About you

As an Admin Assistant, you will bring to the role:

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Experience working in an administrative environment, including using Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills, both face-to-face and over the phone.
  • Accuracy in data entry and document checking.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and teamwork.

About the role

This is a great opportunity to join the team at Armley Leisure Centre, supporting the Centre Manager and staff with essential administrative tasks. From managing bookings and producing reports to helping with reception duties, your work will help ensure the centre runs smoothly and continues to serve the local community effectively.

Job Description 

Job purpose

To provide administrative support for the Centre manager and other members of staff in a Leisure Centre

Responsibilities

  • To deal effectively with enquiries both in person and by telephone and routine correspondence including scheduling and managing appointments, bookings and diaries
  • To set up appointments as instructed and take minutes of site based meetings.
  • To develop and maintain accurate financial, statistical and information records, filing systems and inventories in an organised and effective manner
  • To process daily cashing up in accordance with the LCC financial regulations.
  • To assist with the monitoring and production of performance reports on the Sections performance indicators and Service Delivery Plans
  • To produce transactional reports using the Leisure Management System.
  • To assist with the development and maintenance of databases, microsoft office and e-mail documents to high standards of accuracy and presentation.
  • To cover reception on an ad hoc basis.
  • To participate in staff development.
  • To carry out all duties in accordance with council policies including equal opportunities, financial regulations and health and safety.

Qualifications

Essential requirements It is essential that the candidate should be able to demonstrate the following criteria for the post. Candidates will only be shortlisted for interview if they can demonstrate that they meet all the essential requirements.

  • Ability to communication with a wide group of people individually, in groups, face to face and by telephone.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to demonstrate good organisational skills.
  • Ability to proof read and check documents for accuracy.
  • Ability to record accurate information, both numerically and alphabetically.
  • Ability to type accurately.
  • Ability to analysis/collate data and produce reports.
  • Ability to deal with customer enquiries.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Ability to identify problems and offer solutions.
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Experience in the use of paper filing systems.
  • Experience in working in an administrative environment.
  • Experience inputting data.
  • Experience in the use of office equipment,
  • Knowledge of the Corporate Complaints Procedure.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance procedures.
  • Knowledge of IT systems.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of a busy office.
